After critical success with a number of well-regarded disco edits and full support on his Make Love Good EP earlier in the year, Nova Black’s new label (Wavy Recordings) brings you Tastemakers: Volume 1. An eleven track compilation including the likes of George Feely, Swales, Tom Jarmey, Mark Laird & more.

George Feely is quickly establishing himself as one of the most in demand DJs and producers currently circulating on the Irish house scene. He has played in all of Dublin’s biggest clubs, most notably Hangar and District 8, as well as a number of weekly residencies in some of the city’s most popular venues, including his own weekly brand Saturday Shenanigans in the South William.

Manchester based DJ and producer Swales has built a dedicated following in the past few years through his high energy feel good productions and diverse track selection. With a passion for 90’s-esque house, Swales digs deep to supply a myriad of styles ranging from disco influenced cuts to Italo-house stompers.

Josh Hunter is a producer & DJ based in Leeds who’s built a reputation for delivering powerful, club ready club dance tracks and remixes. Josh gained support in 2017 after releasing his remix of ‘Cola’, which secured him the UK number one spot on DJCity, plays on Radio 1, Radio 1 Xtra, Kiss FM and support from James Hype, Blonde & Nathan Dawe. In 2018, he released his debut EP which was supported by Stonebridge, Apres and Nora En Pure.

Ros T has been making waves with the electronic scene with his eclectic and diversified style of music. Previous releases have had label support from Eton Messy, Prospection Records, Kiez Beats, Gedankensport, Sonomic & Architects of Paradise. His live set portfolio has seen him performing in Ibiza, London, Glasgow & Edinburgh.

Employing a unique brand of club orientated house that has done the rounds on YouTube, Laird has excelled as one of the more polished producers in a sea of young up and comers. With that being said, tracks like 'Funk That' may be fresh in our ears but Laird has a serious amount of air miles as a DJ under his belt, playing in clubs since the ripe age of 15. That acute ear for what works on the dance floor is easily heard in his productions.

Amid studying a degree, Manchester based Tom Jarmey is making waves in the scene. While playing regularly at his new Wax Villainy parties, Tom displays his love for a wide range of genres - everything from Detroit electro to roof raising disco. These influences, especially classic deep house, also shine through in his productions. He has lots of projects in the pipeline, most notably 2 split EP’s set to be released in the coming months, including his debut vinyl release in February.

It seems to have been a busy year for REES, headlining shows across the UK & Europe while also sharing the bill, supporting huge talents such as Mall Grab, Tom Trago and Loods. With some notable releases, including a recent EP with major Disco label Midnight Riot. The Paradiso Records label boss has had a fantastic year and 2019 seems to be another big one.

2018 has been a good year for Ssin, the 20-year-old DJ/producer hailing from Nottingham. Currently, residing in Newcastle, Ssin has played alongside acts such as; Purple Disco Machine, Melvo Baptiste and Waze and Odyssey where he resides at ‘Block Party’. Ssin’s love for old school jazz, soul and disco shines through in his productions turning old gems in to feel-good house records.

Slug Father is the moniker of Brooklyn-based DJ/Producer Lucas Feigenbaum. Slug Father’s move to Brooklyn in January 2017 allowed him to weave his way into the borough’s bubbling electronic scene. A member of the Brooklyn-based .WAVCAVE collective- Slug Father landed a monthly residency at Knitting Factory and has also played at Baby’s All Right, Honey’s, Kind Regards, Freehold, and at Governor’s Ball Music Festival 2018.

Kyle Meagher, known by his consecutive initials KLM, is a Brooklyn-based DJ/producer with over a decade in the game playing under various monikers that have brought him to clubs all across the US. In 2015, he co-founded the party/label, Little Disco, holding residencies at popular NYC venues like Black Flamingo, Baby's All Right and Elvis Guesthouse while hosting guests like Jacques Renault, Juan MacLean, Lovebirds and Razor-N-Tape.
